Trust me on this one… I know that constantly being active is a struggle, especially in the busy lives that we live these days. There are little things that you can do, however, to prevent yourself from becoming the dreaded “L” word – LAZY. I know that in other cultures around the world, it is just habit to incorporate these steps into your life. The following is a list of little things that you can do every day or each time you go out that can make you feel better about skipping the gym today.
1 – Instead of driving, ride your bike or even walk if you can to get to where you’re going.
2 – If you do drive, park in the one of the furthermost spots to get a nice walk in between your car and the store.
3 – Take the stairs instead of the elevators in almost all situations.
4 – Do a thorough cleaning of your house including vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping each room.
5 – Do a physical activity when spending time with friends or family like hiking, walking, or riding your bikes around the neighborhood.
6 – When you’re walking your dog, take an extra few minutes to go around the block one last time.
7 – Try taking your date dancing or ice skating instead of a movie.
8 – Spend more time outdoors rather than in front of the television or computer.
9 – Take the time to learn an outside sport like surfing or skateboarding.
10 – In addition to laying out by the pool or ocean, jump in and swim.
